Purpose of the platform<\/h2><p data-start=\"1151\" data-end=\"1441\">DAISA provides a guest behaviour verification database for members of the accommodation industry.<br data-start=\"1252\" data-end=\"1255\" \/>Registered members can submit and view records relating to guest conduct (both positive and negative) to promote accountability, reduce financial losses, and build trust in the industry.<\/p><h2 data-start=\"1443\" data-end=\"1477\">4. Eligibility and membership<\/h2><ul data-start=\"1478\" data-end=\"1977\"><li data-start=\"1478\" data-end=\"1583\"><p data-start=\"1480\" data-end=\"1583\">Membership is available only to legitimate accommodation providers and industry participants.<\/p><\/li><li data-start=\"1584\" data-end=\"1672\"><p data-start=\"1586\" data-end=\"1672\">By registering, you confirm that all information you provide is accurate and lawful.<\/p><\/li><li data-start=\"1673\" data-end=\"1777\"><p data-start=\"1675\" data-end=\"1777\">We reserve the right to approve, deny, suspend, or cancel any membership at our sole discretion.<\/p><\/li><li data-start=\"1778\" data-end=\"1845\"><p data-start=\"1780\" data-end=\"1845\">Members are responsible for keeping their login details secure.<\/p><\/li><li data-start=\"1846\" data-end=\"1977\"><p data-start=\"1848\" data-end=\"1977\">Memberships may include free or paid levels; paid memberships are billed according to the prices and terms displayed on the site.<\/p><\/li><\/ul><h2 data-start=\"1979\" data-end=\"2008\">5. Accuracy of information<\/h2><p data-start=\"2746\" data-end=\"3125\">While DAISA strives to maintain accurate information, all data and content on the website are provided by members.<br data-start=\"2864\" data-end=\"2867\" \/>We do not independently verify each record.<br data-start=\"2910\" data-end=\"2913\" \/>Therefore, DAISA does not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or reliability of any guest record or information displayed.<br data-start=\"3041\" data-end=\"3044\" \/>Members who submit data are solely responsible for its accuracy and legality.<\/p><h2 data-start=\"657\" data-end=\"726\"><strong data-start=\"661\" data-end=\"726\">7. Guest Acknowledgement and Consent for Behaviour Recording<\/strong><\/h2><h3><strong>7.1 Scam Alert Database and Public Reports<\/strong><\/h3><p>DAISA operates a public scam alert database as a community service to help identify and report fraudulent accommodation listings. This feature is separate from the guest behaviour database for members.<\/p><p><strong>Reporting Scams:<\/strong><\/p><ul><li>Any user may submit reports of suspected scams through our public reporting forms<\/li><li>By submitting a report, you confirm that all information provided is true and correct to the best of your knowledge<\/li><li>You acknowledge that submitting false, malicious, or defamatory reports may result in legal action against you<\/li><li>You agree to indemnify and hold DAISA harmless against any claims arising from false or misleading information you submit<\/li><\/ul><p><strong>Published Information:<\/strong><\/p><ul><li><span style=\"font-size: 16px;\">Reports submitted may be published in our public searchable database<\/span><\/li><li>Bank account numbers will be masked in public results, showing only the last 5 digits for security purposes<\/li><li>Reporter personal information (name, email, phone number, IP address) is collected for verification but is NOT published publicly<\/li><li>DAISA reserves the right to edit, redact, or remove any report that appears fraudulent, defamatory, or otherwise inappropriate<\/li><\/ul><p><strong>Verification and Reliance:<\/strong><\/p><ul><li>All scam reports are submitted by community members and are not independently verified by DAISA<\/li><li>DAISA does not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or reliability of any scam report<\/li><li>Users accessing the scam database acknowledge that they use this information entirely at their own risk<\/li><\/ul><p><strong>Disclaimer of Liability:<\/strong><\/p><p>To the fullest extent permitted by South African law, DAISA, its owner, employees, and affiliates shall not be liable for any loss, damage, or harm arising from:<\/p><ul><li>Reliance on information in the scam alert database<\/li><li>Any bookings, payments, or decisions made based on database information<\/li><li>Any false, misleading, or defamatory information submitted by users<\/li><li>Any temporary unavailability of the scam database or search function<\/li><\/ul><p><em><strong>Users are strongly urged to independently verify all establishment details, including contacting the establishment directly using contact details obtained from official sources, before making any payments or bookings.<\/strong><\/em><\/p><p><strong>Consent: <\/strong>By submitting a scam report, you consent to the collection, processing, and publication of information as described in this section and in our <a title=\"Privacy Policy\" href=\"https:\/\/daisa.co.za\/?page_id=1172\"><em><strong>Privacy Policy<\/strong><\/em><\/a>.<\/p><h3>7.2 Acknowledgement Clause<\/h3><p data-start=\"257\" data-end=\"672\">Accommodation providers who are members of DAISA may include a guest acknowledgement clause in their registration forms or sign-in registers. By signing such a document, guests acknowledge that the establishment is a member of the DAISA Guest Behaviour Database and that basic identifying information and relevant behavioural conduct, whether positive or negative, related to their stay may be submitted to DAISA.<\/p><p data-start=\"674\" data-end=\"707\"><strong>Guests understand and agree that:<\/strong><\/p><ul data-start=\"709\" data-end=\"1556\"><li data-start=\"709\" data-end=\"898\"><p data-start=\"711\" data-end=\"898\">The information recorded will relate only to behaviour that affects the safety, property, operations, well-being, or service experience of the establishment, its staff, or other guests.<\/p><\/li><li data-start=\"899\" data-end=\"1211\"><p data-start=\"901\" data-end=\"1211\">Behaviour may include <strong data-start=\"923\" data-end=\"943\">positive conduct<\/strong> (such as respectful interaction, responsible use of facilities, prompt payment, or commendable cooperation) or <strong data-start=\"1055\" data-end=\"1075\">negative conduct<\/strong> (such as non-payment, damage, threats, disturbances, misconduct, or behaviour that may reasonably impact the accommodation industry).<\/p><\/li><li data-start=\"1212\" data-end=\"1354\"><p data-start=\"1214\" data-end=\"1354\">The submission and processing of such information will be done in full compliance with the <a title=\"POPI Act Of 2013\" href=\"https:\/\/daisa.co.za\/?page_id=1159\"><em><strong>Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA)<\/strong><\/em>.<\/a><\/p><\/li><li data-start=\"1355\" data-end=\"1436\"><p data-start=\"1357\" data-end=\"1436\">Only verified accommodation providers have authorised access to the database.<\/p><\/li><li data-start=\"1437\" data-end=\"1556\"><p data-start=\"1439\" data-end=\"1556\">The information is used solely for legitimate industry risk assessment, service improvement, and protection purposes.<\/p><\/li><\/ul><p data-start=\"1558\" data-end=\"1951\">By staying at a participating establishment, guests consent to this processing of their information and acknowledge that both positive and negative behaviour may be recorded on the DAISA system. Guests further acknowledge that failure to comply with the establishment\u2019s rules, causing loss or damage, or demonstrating exceptional conduct may result in their details being recorded accordingly.<\/p><h4 data-start=\"1953\" data-end=\"2691\"><strong data-start=\"1953\" data-end=\"2036\">Suggested Guest Acknowledgement Clause (for inclusion in the sign-in register)<\/strong><\/h4><p data-start=\"1953\" data-end=\"2691\"><strong><em data-start=\"2039\" data-end=\"2691\">I, the undersigned guest, acknowledge that this establishment is a member of the DAISA Guest Behaviour Database. I understand that my personal details and any behaviour, positive or negative, relating to my stay may be recorded on the DAISA system if it is relevant to service quality, safety, risk management, or compliance with the establishment\u2019s rules. I consent to the submission and processing of such information in accordance with the <a href=\"https:\/\/popia.co.za\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA)<\/a>. I acknowledge that it is my responsibility to familiarise myself with the rules and regulations of this establishment and to comply with them during my stay.<\/em><\/strong><\/p><h2 data-start=\"3127\" data-end=\"3156\">8.
